Trapper is a tower that deploys stationary traps along the enemy path instead of firing projectiles, dealing damage only when an enemy walks over a placed trap. It offers three selectable trap types with distinct mechanics: Spike Trap (available from Level 0) deals direct unit-collision damage, Landmine (unlocked at Level 2) deals splash damage with a burn-over-time effect and bypasses defense, and Bear Trap (unlocked at Level 4) deals heavy single-target damage and stuns the enemy it hits for three seconds.

Upgrade Cost by Level Lv0 $500 Lv1 $500 Lv2 $1,500 Lv3 $6,000 Lv4 $11,500
Level Upgrade Cost Damage Cooldown Range DPS
0 500 10 4 7
1 500 20 4 7
2 1500 25 4 9
3 6000 45 3 10
4 11500 65 2.5 10

Note: Upgrade 'Don't try this at home' (final level, max). Spike Trap: 65 damage, 325 health, 2.5s firerate, 13 max traps. Landmine (alternate mode): 160 damage + 4 burn damage/tick, 2.5s firerate, 6 explosion range, 5s burn time. Bear Trap unlocked (alternate mode): 325 damage, 2.5s firerate, 10 range, 3s stun. DPS left null — three selectable trap modes with distinct mechanics make a single DPS figure misleading.

How to Get Trapper

Trapper is purchased from the in-game store for 3,000 Coins. Placing it costs 500 in-game cash at Level 0, and it is capped at a placement limit of 7 per player.

Its upgrade path is built around unlocking new trap types rather than simply scaling one weapon: Level 2 adds the Landmine trap alongside the base Spike Trap, and Level 4 (the final and most expensive upgrade at 11,500 cash) adds the Bear Trap with its stun effect. Detection-wise, Trapper picks up both Lead and Hidden detection from Level 0 in regular modes, though it loses Hidden detection specifically in PVP.

Is Trapper Worth It?

Trapper's value is difficult to reduce to a single DPS number because its output depends on how many traps are on the ground, how many enemies walk over them, and which of the three trap types is currently selected. Spike Trap provides steady baseline damage from Level 0 onward, Landmine trades some reliability for splash damage and defense bypass against grouped or armored enemies, and Bear Trap trades raw output for a three-second stun that can be used to control dangerous single targets rather than maximize damage.

A notable limitation is that Spike Trap and Bear Trap damage is unaffected by Damage Buff towers such as DJ Booth or Mercenary Base, since their damage is unit-collision based rather than projectile based; only Landmine's splash damage benefits from those buffs. Traps also cannot hit Flying enemies at all, and Spike/Bear Trap specifically cannot hit Ghost enemies since Ghosts avoid unit-collision damage, though Landmine's splash damage can still reach them.

Best Loadouts With Trapper

Because Trapper's traps only deal damage on contact, it performs best placed directly on or very close to the enemy path rather than at range, and benefits from chokepoints where enemies are forced to walk over the same ground repeatedly. Landmine is generally the better choice against grouped or armored enemies once it unlocks at Level 2, while Bear Trap at Level 4 is more useful as a control tool against a single dangerous enemy that needs to be stunned rather than a primary damage source.

Since neither Spike Trap nor Bear Trap benefit from Damage Buff towers, pairing Trapper with buff towers is only worthwhile if running the Landmine trap type. Trapper also cannot hit Flying enemies under any trap type, so it needs to be paired with an anti-air tower to keep those enemies from passing through unchecked.
